Edgar Giffenig was a highly ranked junior in Mexico and played for the University of Texas where he completed an undergraduate degree in business and a graduate degree in exercise physiology.  

Edgar started his coaching career as an assistant coach for the University of Texas.  He then became national coach for the United States Tennis Association, where he traveled with a very talented junior national team, which included many future stars like Mike and Bob Bryan, Vince Spadea, Paul Goldstein and Justin Gimmelstob. He then became a national coach for the German Tennis Federation and the Mexican Tennis Federation. Throughout his career Edgar has worked with hundreds of players of all levels and ages from beginners to professionals. 

Edgar currently lives in Connecticut where he directs the tennis program at the Norfolk Country Club and at the Hotchkiss School. Edgar is involved in coaching education worldwide and was a member of the International Tennis Federation Coaches Commission.  Edgar still likes to compete and finished 2016 ranked five in the 55’s and over ITF world rankings. 

Craig Jones is Senior Director, Coach Education at USTA.  In this role, he is responsible for developing coaching resources, workshops and overseeing accreditation.

 

Before joining the USTA, Craig spent over 25 years as a Club Owner, Director of Tennis and junior developer, working with players from novice, to national and international champions.  He is a certified PTR Professional, USPTA Elite Professional and USTA High Performance Coach


Tom Daglis is certified as a USPTA Master Professional by the United States Professional Tennis Association. His tenure includes serving as National President for the USPTA for two terms, President for the Southern Division, and a member of the USPTA Executive Committee for 26 years. The USPTA has honored Tom with many awards including Alex Gordon National Pro of the Year, Southern & Mid Atlantic Pro of the Year, and many more. In 2016, Tom was honored with the International Tennis Hall of Fame Educational Merit Award

Tom has previously served as Director of Tennis at Platinum country clubs and is the former Professional Tennis Management Director within the schools of business at both Ferris State University, Michigan and Methodist University, North Carolina. One of Tom’s most recent positions was Executive Director of the Rome Tennis Center at Berry College, the nation’s largest single surface tennis center with sixty-four (64) tennis courts. He currently serves as USTA Mississippi President and is an Executive Search Consultant & Career Coach for McMahon Careers. Tom is the President/Owner of the Pelican Tennis Group, LLC, providing tennis consulting services to the entire tennis industry.

Todd Upchurch is a USPTA Master Professional and the Director of Serve It UP Tennis Academy. After 18 years as a Director of Tennis in public and private facilities, he founded his management company in 2010. Serve It UP is involved in club management, administers extensive on site elementary afterschool programs and runs USTA and 3v3 tennis tournaments in North and South Carolina. Todd writes articles and presents on tennis, business, marketing and winning in life with a positive attitude. He became a USPTA certified professional in 1997 and earned his USPTA Master Professional certification in 2017. In May 2023 he was proudly inducted into the USPTA Southern Division Hall of Fame. 

Todd served as the Division President for 4 years. He was awarded the 1999 NC USPTA Pro Year and was the recipient of the 2008 and 2017 Fred Burdick Pride of the South award for the USPTA Southern Division. He has 2 children, Noah (18 yrs old) and Reese (16 yrs old) and lives in Charlotte, NC.


Darryl Lewis is a USPTA Master Professional and is the Director of Athletics at Old Town Club in Winston Salem, NC where he manages Aquatics, Fitness, and Racquet Sports (Tennis, Platform Tennis, and Pickleball). He is certified by both is one of less than 20 pros that are designated as both a USPTA Master Professional, and a PTR International Master Professional. He has worked in all areas of the industry, including private country clubs, corporate clubs, public parks, resorts, the USTA, and was part of the management team that ran the tennis event at the Atlanta Olympic Games. He is a leader in coach education and enjoys growing the game and expanding the knowledge of racquet professionals. 


Chris Hoshour is a USPTA Elite Pro with a Specialist in Competitive Player

Development, a Master Pro with the PTR in Performance and a Certified ATP

Tour Coach. He has coached two NCAA Champions and a NCAA finalist as well

as players on both the ATP Tour and WTA Tour. Thoughout his 30 years of

coaching he has developed many Top 10 USTA Junior players as well as many

Gold, Silver and Bronze balls. On the collegiate scene he has worked with

players playing at many of the top programs in the county from Stanford, Virginia,

UNC and UCLA. Currently he has players playing at Michigan State, South

Carolina, SMU, UPenn , Villanova and Middleberry College. Developing and

mentoring juniors and young professionals to reach their highest level they can

reach is his passion.


Dana Squelch-Costa  began volunteering with the tennis community in 2010, and since then has taken on a number of different roles. She found a more permanent volunteer position with Highland Park Tennis Club (HPTC) in 2015, and has served as president of the club from 2018 until 2023. Under Dana’s leadership, HPTC has received multiple awards from the USTA at the local, section, and national levels. Dana has helped to manage major initiatives that include free tennis lessons for residents of the Pittsburgh area, USTA tournaments, and fundraisers for a variety of local non-profits. 

In 2019, Dana and HPTC introduced blind and visually impaired (BVI) tennis to the Pittsburgh region. Drawing on her background and experience in education, Dana designed a curriculum that adapted tennis to fit the needs of visually impaired individuals of all ages. The curriculum is the centerpiece of the free BVI clinics that are offered by HPTC throughout the year. From her passion the U.S Blind Tennis Association was founded with a mission to provide resources and support to others looking to learn this wonderful sport.   

David Dilettuso is a USPTA Elite Professional with 46 years of experience and he has 20 years USTA high performance coach, and coached on WTA circuit. He education is Lehigh University and Duquesne School of Law. He is the Head Tennis Professional at Highland Park Tennis Club and he works with the US Blind 


Geoff Browne is the Director of Racquet Sports at The Grove Club in College Grove, TN. He is a USPTA Elite Pro, USPTA Pickleball certified, CRSE and USRSA Master Pro. Geoff was a charter member of the initial USRSA certified stringer program. He has done customization and stringing for several tour players from matching racquets to building custom handles including two former #1 players. Geoff is a USPTA Southern Board member as well as the USPTA Tennessee President. He has been stringing and customizing racquets since his Junior playing days. 


Marc Blouin has over 35 years of tennis teaching experience ranging from recreational to professional levels.  He was fortunate to teach clinics with tennis greats Stan Smith, Billie Jean King, and Dennis Van der Meer, and was a sparring partner to WTA players.  Marc is one of sixteen individuals in the world with dual Master Professional designation with USPTA and PTR.

Devin Crotzer is currently the manager of Collegiate tennis for USTA Southern.  He is a USPTA/PTR certified teaching pro and holds certifications as a Tennis Performance Trainer (TPT) with the iTPA and is recognized as a High Performance coach by the USTA.  

He played collegiate tennis at Cumberland University where he earned a bachelor's degree in management.  During his playing career he amassed wins to help his team finish 11th in the final team rankings. Devin also became the volunteer assistant for the Vanderbilt Men’s program for 1 year before completing a mechatronics degree and working as an automation engineer for UPS.  

Devin has spent 17 years coaching players of all levels and ages from beginner to Professional. He has coached in Europe for players competing at ITF juniors and Futures events. He was a director at the Junior Training Center of Champions in College Park Maryland specializing in competitive 11-17 year olds. Most recently he helped Bluegrass Country Club grow their junior program and created participation in Middle School, High School and USTA programs. His passion is grassroot programs that fuel the sports growth and advancement. 

Dan Beedle is native of Indiana and a graduate of the Professional Tennis Management program at Ferris State University in Michigan. He has taught at clubs in Shreveport, Louisiana; Memphis, Tennessee, Charlotte, North Carolina and Knoxville, Tennessee. As a tennis professional, Dan holds the highest certifications through both the USPTA and the PTR. Along with those certifications Dan is also a USTA High Performance Coach, iTPA Tennis Performance Trainer, iTPA Tennis Serve Specialist.

Dan has been recognized as USTA Louisiana and USTA Southern Pro of The Year, USPTA Southern Assistant Pro of the Year, USPTA Southern Teaching Professional, Ferris State PTM Alumni of the Year, USPTA Southern Pro of the Year, USPTA Top 10 Education credits earner and also is a National Cardio Tennis Trainer and USPTA Coach Developer

Outside of tennis, Dan enjoys traveling and spending time with his wife Cameron, and his dog Melbourne. Dan also enjoys watching his favorite teams the Butler Bulldogs, Pittsburg Penguins and Steelers, and the Tennessee Volunteers. 


William Foreman is originally from Jackson, MS. He is an Elite Professional with the USPTA and a Master Racquet Technician with the United States Racquet Stringers Association. William is the current Competitive Pathway Director for USTA Mississippi where he oversees all adult and junior tournaments in the state, as well as select team competitions, Tennis on Campus, and adult red ball programming. He also is a part time teaching professional at The Club at the Township in Ridgeland, MS. William has previously been in roles as the Pro Shop Manager at Reunion Golf and Country Club in Madison, MS, Head Professional at the Prosperity Athletic Club in Charlotte, NC, Tennis Manager for the City of Oxford, MS, and owner of The Oxford Tennis Shop in Oxford, MS.



Courtney Ulrich has been actively involved in tennis for over 30 years. She continues to play competitively and serves in a variety of roles in the tennis community at both local and state levels.  Courtney is a lifelong resident of the Mississippi Gulf Coast where she attended St. John High School.  She accepted a tennis scholarship from the University of Southern Mississippi and competed at the collegiate level for 4 years. She was the Head Tennis Coach for Gulfport High School for 11 years prior to joining the Bearcat family and she has coached numerous junior teams on the National,  Sectional, and State levels including Zonals and the Southern Junior Cup.

Other tennis experience includes working as an Assistant Pro at the East Hampton Tennis Club, Assistant Pro at Treasure Oaks Country Club in Ocean Springs and currently working as an Assistant Pro at Bayou Bluff Tennis Club in Gulfport. The Mississippi High School Coaches Association selected Courtney as the 2014 All-Star High School Tennis Coach of the Year.
